CrisisLink Seeks Summer Intern for Public Relations & Marketing Paid Internship

ARLINGTON, VA (March 10, 2008) - CrisisLink seeks a Public Relations & Marketing Intern to 1) increase awareness of CrisisLink’s Hotlines, volunteer opportunities, and 2-1-1 Northern Virginia, CrisisLink’s major new service for the region; and to 2) expand CrisisLink’s presence on social networking sites such as Facebook and Myspace. This internship position is made possible by the generous support of the ExxonMobil Community Summer Jobs Program (CSJP).
Dates of the Internship: The eight week, paid internship will begin on June 2 and end on July 25, 2008. (Arrangements can be made for the internship to take place during another eight week period over the summer. However, the internship may start no earlier than May 15 and ending no later than August 31.)
As a condition of the grant, interns are required to:
- attend a Kick-Off Reception on June 11, 2008;
- participate in an Intern Development Seminar on June 25, 2008;
- complete an Intern Service Project coordinated by Volunteer Fairfax during the week of June 16 OR the week of July 14. (Must complete at least one project.) Participating in the Intern Service Projects will be 60 interns funded by the ExxonMobil CSJP at various D.C.-area nonprofit organizations.
Stipend: $2,500 (less applicable federal, state, and FICA taxes). The stipend will be paid bi-weekly over the eight week period.
